Hey guys I just wanted to pose a question. about how much do you think stereotypes affect us in our everyday lives?
In my opinion stereotypes for the most part don't affect me in my everyday life that much. I've always been one to say to break the mold or if someone try's to judge me based on other peoples actions I usually disregard them them. Many times it seems that we usually joke about stereotypes more than we actually use them to intend harm. Watermelon, Fried chicken,Kool-Aid, Rap music etc. has never hurt me or made me less of a hard worker, deep thinker or honest person. I guess I usually choose to focus on me being a better person rather than focus on someone's preconcived opinion that they have because of there past experiences with someone like me.

How Much Do Stereotypes Really Matter

I think that Kevin handles the idea of stereotypes very well. I think we are all guilty of being stereotypical in some sense, but the way we handle them is very important. I also believe that every individual is different and we should not let stereotypes affect us in the way that we judge people before getting to know them.
