ADDS:
I heavily dislike adds. I like the concept of adds and how they are used to brand your company and how other companies make money off adds. It all makes sense but to me I just can't stand when there is a Subaru commercial on and it has six dogs sitting in the car and then the dogs start driving and words pop up on the screen saying: DOG APPROVED Who cares if it's dog approved, shouldn't it be people approved too, because we are the ones buying the damn things. Yes there are adds that I laugh out loud because they are just plain funny, and to me the ones that interest me or make me react in a good way to it are the companies or logos that I will remember. The Itunes, Clydesdale horse for Budweiser and Audi are some of the commercials that I enjoy to watch.
It's the adds on the computer that really get me. I'm just trying to read this article and move on with my day and you have adds popping up every 30 seconds. For an odd reason I don't like how behemoth companies have adds all over the place, 24/7. To me it's just weird because everyone knows who Facebook or Chevrolet is, but I understand they want to market their car or resources to us in hopes for inspiring us to change our way.
I agree with Jack. I find ads very annoying. I understand the concept of them and reasoning behind them, but an excessive amount of ads could just piss people off and cause them to hate a product. When I was playing trivia crack one day, I continually got interrupted by "Game of War" ads and it was making me so mad I stopped playing the game altogether just because I didn't want to see the stupid ads againl.
ReplyDeleteI also concur with Jack on the pointless ads that we see daily about brand that we already know. It can definitely be annoying to see the same ads about a Chevy truck over and over again. However the point that Jack made about the dog approved ad and the ads that actually make him laugh are one in the same. The dog approved ad was funny to somebody out there and that's why they used it. i spoke to someone who works an advertising and they told me that ads use humor because humor is something that we can all relate too thus making they product more relate-able. That's why companies make ads that are funny to only certain people and others make ads that are funny to the general population.
DeleteI'm gonna have to disagree with you there Jackson I love ads. Especially the ones during the super bowl because they crack me up. I love a good laugh while watching the game. Plus they show some cool stuff sometimes. Like I saw a chrome cast which is awesome and I went out and bought one and its still awesome. There's nothing wrong with companies trying to advertise they're products to make money. That's business. The only problem I have is if they lie about their product. usually its the consumer making connections in their head and they claim the company lied when really its their own fault. That is why I believe ads aren't a bad thing and i like them.
